BROKEN WILL

Three Attitudes about a SURRENDERED life:

1. I want what I want, and I want it now.

'I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God's stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.'
Isaiah 14:13-14

Two words capture the heart of Lucifer …

 I    WILL

We are never more like Satan than when we focus on ourselves!

The Theology of Happiness

The problem is a lack of understanding that happiness is not the bottle line in our lives but holiness is.

God calls us to be set apart, to be different, to be holy.

You can make many plans, but the LORD's purpose will prevail.
Proverbs 19:21

2. I want what God wants, but

Jesus felt genuine love for this man as He looked at him. "You lack only one thing," He told him. "Go and sell all you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me." At this, the man's face fell, and he went sadly away because he had many possessions.
Mark 10:21-22

You will never know what God has for you when you live life according to your own terms and qualifications!

People claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live.
Titus 1:16

3. You want what God wants, period.

The hidden key to a full life is a little word called submission!

Jesus modeled that for us in Mathew 26.

“… Your will be done.”
Matthew 26:42

Compare and Contrast:

Lucifer … Jesus …
wanted everyone to worship him wanted everyone to worship God
wanted himself to be known wanted people to know His Father
wanted it his way
                    (his will)
wanted God’s way.
                    (the will of God)

What is the driving force behind your decisions?

Who do you want to be more like?

Keys to living the Surrendered life:

Key Determine to finish what God has asked you to do.

Key Learn to Pray!
When things are good, be thankful and alert!

As trials enter your life ask God for strength in your weakness.

Key Learn to Trust God more than you trust yourself.

Surrender your plans to God even when it doesn’t make sense!

Jeremiah 29:11 ~ Proverbs 3:5 ~ Psalm 37:4 ~ Proverbs 14:11-12

Understand you see you can’t AND that God can!

If you are not completely convinced that God’s way is best, still keep on doing it. Pursue it with everything you’ve got!

Try it!
