Why Is Your “BUT” So Big?
Then I observed that most people are
motivated to success by their envy of
their neighbors. But this, too, is
meaningless, like chasing the wind.
Ecclesiastes 4:4
I observed yet another example of
meaninglessness in our world. This is
the case of a man who is all alone,
without a child or a brother, yet who
works hard to gain as much wealth as he
can. But then he asks himself, "Who am I
working for? Why am I giving up so much
pleasure now?" It is all so meaningless
and depressing.
Ecclesiastes 4:7-8
Two people can accomplish more than
twice as much as one; they get a better
return for their labor. If one person
falls, the other can reach out and help.
But people who are alone when they fall
are in real trouble. And on a cold
night, two under the same blanket can
gain warmth from each other. But how can
one be warm alone? A person standing
alone can be attacked and defeated, but
two can stand back-to-back and conquer.
Three are even better, for a
triple-braided cord is not easily
broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Physical exercise has some value, but
spiritual exercise is much more
important, for it promises a reward in
both this life and the next. This is
true, and everyone should accept it.
1 Timothy 4:8-9
For by that one offering He perfected
forever all those whom He is making
holy. And the Holy Spirit also testifies
that this is so. First He says, "This is
the new covenant I will make with My
people on that day, says the Lord: I
will put My laws in their hearts so they
will understand them, and I will write
them on their minds so they will obey
them." Then He adds, "I will never again
remember their sins and lawless deeds."
Now when sins have been forgiven, there
is no need to offer any more sacrifices.
So, dear brothers and sisters, we can
boldly enter heaven's Most Holy Place
because of the blood of Jesus. This is
the new, life-giving way that Christ has
opened up for us through the sacred
curtain, by means of His death for us.
Hebrews 10:14-20
Think of ways to encourage one another
to outbursts of love and good deeds.
Hebrews 10:24 NLT
And let us consider how we may spur one
another on toward love and good deeds.
Hebrews 10:24 NIV

Let us not neglect our meeting together,
as some people do, but enourage and warn
each other, especially now that the day
of His coming back again is drawing
near.
Hebrews 10:25
